McCain: Did he suspend his campaign to return to DC because he's being a statesman, or...?

Statesman. He's a Senator, and this is the single biggest bill facing the House ever.

My answers are: Tactician, No, because people have already made up their minds about who they're voting for.

I hid the results -- don't want fights in my journal among my political diverse friends.

I think it does matter... the hardcore have chosen, and they won't be swayed. There are a lot of independant voters and people that are on the fence whether they will vote or not... and things like this can tip the balance.

I don't think people _have_ made up their minds. And I agree with the ticky boxes, because he's doing this for multiple reasons- the evasion _is_ tactical.

I think it's a little of all three, actually.

I do think it's curious he didn't say something like, "I'm going back to Washington. Sarah Palin will continue the campaign."
