How much should you tip for pizza delivery? Well, there's a handy calculator right here.

Of course, if you're looking to eat a bit healthier (not that I'm recommending it; afterall, [info]locakitty needs the business), check out Local Harvest.

The best organic food is what's grown closest to you. Use our website to find farmers' markets, family farms, and other sources of sustainably grown food in your area, where you can buy produce, grass-fed meats, and many other goodies.

Ain't that the truth?

And in other news, RIP Gary Gygax.  I wasn't a huge gamer or anything, but no one can deny the impact that Gygax's imagination had some of the people I've loved (friends and boyfriends alike), past and present.

Not that you asked, but my favorite D&D film moment was the ending of SLC Punk! (which is actually the beginning of the story), where Bob introduces Steveo to punk  music. Steveo is playing D&D and listening to Rush when Bob comes in and blasts punk, turning Steveo into a punk forever. Progrock geek that I am, it's still enamored by the idea of a D&D gamer getting his mind blown by punk music.

Watch the movie here.

That cartoon is spot on.

Here's an interesting question: how much should you tip a gas station attendant? From my observation, the custom is to not give a tip at all. I live in Oregon, where self-service gas is actually illegal, and you always have to have an attendant pump your gas. I have rarely seen anyone tip an attendant. But the more I think about it, the more cheap this practice seems to me.

Broad tipping guides.
Both indicate gas attendant tipping is optional. Probably because of their pay scale.

Thanks for posting those.

I'm not sure how well gas station attendants are paid. Oregon's minimum wage is higher than most states (it is automatically increased each year based on the Consumer Price Index), and employers aren't allowed to count tips against the minimum.

That pizza site needs to be updated. $2 is too cheap, ESPECIALLY in a delivery area the size of mine. Less than a mile, possibly two, from the store? Ok, $2. Up the hill six miles away? $5 or 20% whichever is greater. Especially with the cost of gas now.

Oy vey!
